About Tammera:

At the age of 16 years old, Tammera Holmes was introduced to the world of Aviation by the Tuskegee Airmen Inc., (TAI) Young Eagles Program sponsored by the Chicago DODO Chapter. That day she took her first flight and it was a life-changing experience for her. She decided then to pursue a career in Aviation.

Tammera graduated from Proviso East High School (Maywood, IL) and enrolled at Southern Illinois University to major in Aviation Flight/Management and Spanish. After only 4 weeks of flight training, she was one of the first in her class of over 200 students to solo. She graduated from SIU having completed both the Spanish and Aviation Programs in only four and a half years.

In 2001, she began her professional aviation career by assuming employment with Landrum & Brown, one of the nation's leading Aviation Consulting Firms. As first a Facilities and Operations Analyst, then an Environmental Consultant, she provided a wide variety of planning services for both large and small air carrier airports. Ms. Holmes is a strong resource for data analysis and comprehensive data reporting; providing technical writing, research and analysis, executing numerous presentations to discuss airport-related issues with officials in both the public and private sectors.

Notable projects that she has worked on include: Green Airport Initiatives, Clean Construction Bid Specifications for the $6.6 Billion O'Hare Modernization Program (OMP), FAA Guidance for the Voluntary Airport Low Emission Program, O'Hare and Midway School Noise Abatement Programs and the FAA Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for OMP. She has also worked on environmental mitigation research for OMP for wetlands, noise abatement, energy supply, natural resources, hazardous materials, and emissions.

In her defining role at Landrum & Brown, Ms. Holmes acted as Business Manager and Project Administrator for Landrum & Brown's Chicago office. Her duties included contract review, management and compliance, marketing coordination, client and agency coordination, and oversight for client receivables.

In 2005, Ms. Holmes was featured in a publication dedicated to the City of Chicago's Dynamic Women in Aviation. She volunteers countless hours as a motivational speaker addressing the topics of careers in aviation and success. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

In 2008, she launched AeroStar Corporation in an effort to pave the way for tomorrow's leading organizations both within and outside of the Aviation Industry. Ms. Holmes has volunteered countless hours as a motivational speaker addressing the topics ranging from careers in aviation to successful leadership and management. Her passion to see leadership work effectively with subordinates in new and innovative ways, as well as to see companies develop meaningful relationships with academic entities within their communities, has helped her to set an unprecedented pace for growth amongst highly qualified young people and monitories within Corporate America.
